Just as you would consider the size for a new top or pair of shoes before you buy, considering correct wig measurements is essential for a comfortable fit.
If you are buying one of our many gorgeous wigs, one of your first priorities should be looking up how to measure your head for a wig. This is a straightforward procedure that will ensure your wig measurements are right for you.
Average size wigs, however, tend to fit about 95% of customers. We have a guide that will help you measure your head to determine the best size!
Here is our size chart:
To maintain their shape and prevent crushing, place them in a wig travel case or a spacious box. Do not pack them tightly with other items. For short trips, a "wig pillow" or simply placing them in the passenger footwell of a car is safer than checking them in luggage.
The glossy look is due to the light reflection off the smooth polymer surface. You can reduce this by using a dry shampoo spray or a light dusting of translucent powder. These products create a microscopic layer on the fibers, diffusing light for a more matte, natural finish.
We strongly advise against it. Chlorine and salt water are chemicals that can degrade the fibers, causing dryness, discoloration, and tangling. The fibers are also more vulnerable to damage when wet. Always remove your wig before swimming or showering.
Yes. We use advanced fiber blending techniques to create realistic gray and white shades. These fibers are often a mix of pure white, off-white, and subtle darker tones to mimic the multi-dimensional nature of natural gray hair, avoiding a flat, artificial appearance.
A wefted cap (where fibers are sewn onto tracks) is durable and cost-effective. A hand-tied cap involves fibers being individually knotted onto a soft, stretchy mesh. This creates a more natural movement, reduces bulk, and allows for greater versatility in parting, but it is typically a more premium feature.
A dedicated synthetic wig spray or revitalizer works by depositing a light, non-oily coating that smooths the fiber's surface, restoring slip and a healthy shine without weighing the hair down.
This is normal. The stiffness is from the factory-set style hold and can be gently shaken out. The slight odor is from manufacturing and packaging and is not harmful. It will dissipate quickly after airing out the wig for a few hours.
Synthetic fibers are engineered polymers, designed for specific traits. The key advantage is memory. These fibers are heat-set during production to permanently hold their style, meaning your wig will retain its curl, wave, or straightness without daily styling, unlike human hair which is susceptible to humidity and requires regular maintenance.
Use cold water and a sulfate-free wig shampoo. Gently swirl, rinse, and air-dry on a wig stand. Avoid rubbing or wringing.
Synthetic fibers cannot be traditionally dyed. You can choose from our ready-made wig colors or try temporary spray color for short-term changes.
Refresh styles by misting with water and reshaping with your fingers.
Absolutely! We recommend consulting a professional stylist for trimming or thinning to achieve your desired look without compromising the wig’s integrity.
Our premium fibers are engineered to resist tangling. For best results, gently detangle with a wide-tooth comb and store your wig on a stand when not in use.
Yes! our wigs are made with heat-defiant fibers (up to 330°F/165°C), allowing you to use low-heat styling tools for customization.
While wig is not in use, it may be stored in silk hair bag, wig stand, mannequin head. When traveling, a styled wig may be carried in a box to prevent flattening.
The lifespan of Glamvigor hair systems is determined by how well they are taken care of. Usually, lifespan is from 12 months to several years depending on how often they are worn and how well they are taken care of and what chemical treatment it had to undergo when being made.
Both types of wigs have advantages and many people choose between human hair and synthetic hair wigs depending on the situation. Human hair has the most natural look and feel as well as styling versatility. While usually more expensive, human hair can last more than a year with proper care. Synthetic hair tends to be the more affordable option and is very easy to wear - wigs are usually ready to wear right out of the box and require little to no styling.
A basic wig cap (also called a capless cap, weft cap, or open cap) is a machine-made wig cap that is made by sewing a “weft” or hair curtain onto a thin strip of elastic material. The “weft” is camouflaged using a technique called “permatease” to make it partially undetectable.
A Lace or Mono part cap is a type of wig cap construction upon which a fine layer of transparent micro-mesh is inserted either at the parting, crown or top area. Each strand of hair is then individually hand tied to this layer of mesh to mimic natural hair growth.
Mono / Lace Top basically means that all the hair on the top part of the wig is hand-tied. This allows you to part your hair in any position (left, right or center) and the parting will look natural.
It is better not to sleep with the wig, but if you decide to, make a couple of big braids or buns when going to sleep with a wig, or make a silk wrap. Make sure the hair is completely dry before going to bed. Never sleep with wet hair.
Buying a wig is exciting. With a simple color change, you can instantly change your look. Plus, it's faster and easier to try new colors and it won't damage your natural hair. When making your choice, don't forget to consider your skin tone, eye color and personality. Once you've met your "color", you'll discover a new confident you.
Please note that actual colors may vary. Although we do our best to photograph and edit the truest, most accurate color representation; the actual color of the wig/topper may appear slightly different in person. This can be due to the way each monitor/display/phone renders color, how your eye sees color, and how different lighting environments (shade/sun, indoor/outdoor, natural lighting/florescent lighting, etc) affects color.
